Our Journey — From Farm to Fork
At Sunguch, every rabbit begins its journey on our farm, where we focus on responsible breeding, clean housing, natural feeding and proper animal care. Our rabbits are raised on a balanced diet of quality feeds, forage, greens and clean water, allowing them to grow naturally and healthily.
When they reach the right market weight, they are carefully selected and processed in a clean environment following Halaal slaughter principles. After slaughter, the meat is properly dressed, allowed to rest and condition, then chilled to preserve tenderness, freshness and quality.
From there, each rabbit is prepared according to the customer’s preference, hygienically packed in food-grade packaging and kept under the right conditions until dispatch.
Ordering is simple through WhatsApp. Once your order is confirmed, we prepare, pack and arrange delivery to your location.

Three Kenyan favourites you can cook with Sunguch rabbit meat — a kienyeji stew, charcoal choma and rabbit with mukimo.
Rabbit Kienyeji Stew
A rich, comforting Kenyan-style stew that pairs perfectly with ugali, chapati or rice.
Ingredients
- 1 rabbit, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 potatoes, cubed
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 bunch coriander
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper
- 1–2 cups water or stock
Method
- 1Heat oil in a cooking pot and lightly brown the rabbit pieces.
- 2Remove the rabbit and set aside.
- 3In the same pot, fry the onions until soft and golden.
- 4Add garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
- 5Add tomatoes and cook until they form a thick sauce.
- 6Return the rabbit pieces to the pot and season with salt and black pepper.
- 7Add potatoes, carrots and water or stock.
- 8Cover and simmer on low heat for 45–60 minutes, or until the rabbit is tender.
- 9Add fresh coriander just before serving.
Serve with: Ugali, chapati, rice or mashed potatoes.

Sunguch Rabbit Choma
A Kenyan barbecue favourite with a lighter, tender twist.
Ingredients
- 1 rabbit, cut into large portions
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp rosemary
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
Method
- 1Mix lemon juice, garlic, rosemary, black pepper, salt and oil in a bowl.
- 2Rub the marinade generously over the rabbit pieces.
- 3Cover and allow to marinate for at least 1 hour.
- 4Prepare a charcoal grill on medium heat.
- 5Place the rabbit pieces on the grill.
- 6Cook slowly, turning regularly so the meat cooks evenly.
- 7Brush lightly with the remaining marinade as it cooks.
- 8Grill until golden brown and fully cooked through.
- 9Rest the meat for a few minutes before serving.
Serve with: Kachumbari, ugali, sukuma wiki or roast potatoes.

Rabbit with Mukimo & Greens
A hearty Central Kenyan-inspired meal combining tender rabbit stew with traditional mukimo.
Ingredients
For the rabbit
- 1 rabbit, cut into pieces
- 2 onions
- 3 tomatoes
- 3 cloves garlic
- Fresh coriander
- Cooking oil
- Salt and black pepper
For the mukimo
- 5 potatoes
- 1 cup green peas
- 1 cup maize kernels
- Pumpkin leaves or spinach
- Salt to taste
Method
- 1Boil the potatoes, peas, maize and pumpkin leaves or spinach together until soft.
- 2Drain any excess water and mash everything together until smooth. Add salt to taste.
- 3In another pot, heat cooking oil and brown the rabbit pieces lightly.
- 4Remove the rabbit and fry the onions until soft.
- 5Add garlic and tomatoes, then cook until you have a thick sauce.
- 6Return the rabbit to the pot and season with salt and black pepper.
- 7Add a little water, cover and simmer for 45–60 minutes until tender.
- 8Finish with fresh coriander.
- 9Serve the rabbit stew alongside the mukimo and sautéed greens.
Serve with: Best served hot.
